Top 10 things to do in Minecraft

Let's start our journey in the gaming world with one of the most versatile games ever created - Minecraft. In case you lived in a cave in the past 3 years or so, Minecraft is an indie game created by Mojang's Markus Alexej "Notch" Persson. It's a sandbox adventure game where you make your own story. How come? Because you make your own world. Out of cubes. Millions of them. I'm just saying.

That being said, let's go ahead with our list:
  1. Build a house. A big one. A castle, even. There's virtually no limits to what you can do in Minecraft, so build the most awesome building you've never even had the guts to imagine. All sorts of things have been created so far: tree houses, underground houses, underwater houses etc. Can you beat those?
  2. Make a farm. You can make your living in Minecraft by hunting and harvesting random resources, but if you really want a sustainable e-life for your character, you need to make a farm. You can have plants there (wheat, sugar cane, mushrooms, pumpkins), but you can also make some stables for sheep, pigs, cows and other animals. Also tame some cats (ocelots) and wolves.
  3. Play the game online. While single-player is awesome, multi-player gives a whole new feeling to the game. You can form a party with your friends (not literally, there's no MMO-like option for that) and hunt, mine and wonder around together. Once you've learned the tricks of online play, you can also create your own Minecraft server. It's free and relatively easy!
  4. Visit the Nether. If you don't feel challenged enough in the Overworld, you can always create a portal and slip into the Nether dimension. Fight the mobs there and collect unique resources to make your Overworld house truly one of a kind.
  5. Visit the End. The Nether dimension has gotten too much of a bore for you? No worries, there's another one. This one's much harder though, so be careful. The creatures here won't forgive you for crossing their territories.
  6. Build a monument. If actual buildings aren't your thing, you can always build a monument. Maybe a statue, or even a temple. It's your choice.
  7. Record your gameplay. Many people choose to post Minecraft gameplay videos on YouTube. If you also record your voice and are funny enough, your videos might become popular and you could even start earning money out of it. It happened before, so why wouldn't it happen to you as well?
  8. Kill yourself. There's so many ways to die in Minecraft - and most of them are, if not hilarious, at least very funny. You can drown yourself, jump from a great height, fall in red (or orange) hot lava, burn to death, get killed by a mob, set up deadly traps and trigger them yourself - and the coolest of all, blow yourself up with TNT or by pissing off a creeper. Lots of fun... when you do it on purpose.
  9. Find awesome world seeds. With the unique ability of generating random worlds, you can experiment with various seeds (or even random ones) to find interestingly looking worlds. Some have rivers, some have waterfalls and some have canyons. Some even have things you'll never see in real life.
  10. Play adventure maps. There's an incredible amount of custom-built Minecraft maps on the Web. Download one or more of these and start following the instructions. It's a whole different game.
